Woman of Zebedee

INTRO

One day, the woman of Zebedee

The mother of James and John

Came to see Jesus

I want my sons James and John

To sit on your right hand and on your left

But Jesus said

Are you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink

Are you able to be baptized

With the baptism that I am baptized with

INTERLUDE

Woman! You don’t know what you ask

To take your cross and follow Jesus

To the end

Woman of Zebedee

You know I love your sons

Your boys James and John

But the hour will come

When they must take their cross

Pay the price and follow me

Oh Woman, do you want your sons

To bear much fruit

Then they must lose their lives

For my sake, for my sake

Woman! You don’t know what you ask

Woman! You don’t know what you ask

To take your cross and follow Jesus

To the end

Woman! You don’t know what you ask

Woman! You don’t know what you ask

To take your cross, to follow Jesus

To be baptized, to drink the cup

You don’t know, you have no idea

What it means to follow Jesus

To be baptized, to drink the cup

You don’t know what it means

To take your cross and follow Jesus
