I Believe I Can Try

VERSE 1

I used to think that I could never preach

And I did not believe that I was called

But now I know the meaning of the Word

That I can do all things through Jesus Christ

If I believe in the Holy Spirit

The Spirit will help me to do his will

CHORUS

I believe I can try

I believe I can work for God

Preaching, visiting and counseling

Interacting with them everyday

I believe I can try

I believe I can feed and lead

I believe I can gather people

I believe I can carry them

I believe I can try

See I was just about to lose my way

I was about to choose a lesser call

Cos I did not respect the gift of God

Until I heard about the highest call

If I believe in the Holy Spirit

The Spirit will help me to do his will

I believe I can try

I believe I can work for God

Preaching, visiting and counseling

Interacting with them everyday

I believe I can try

I believe I can feed and lead

I believe I can gather people

I believe I can carry them

I believe I can try

The grace of God that brings salvation

Hath appeared to you and me today

Teaching us to deny worldly lusts

We should live soberly, righteously

And now we’re looking for that blessed hope

The glorious appearing of our great Saviour;
